We humans try very hard to tell right from wrong and good from evil, and we keep failing at it. Our lives and cultures are not black and white, nor are they grey: they are colorful!
I paint angels, because we imagine them as perfect, close-to-God creatures to aspire towards, to love, or to fear. Yet nothing is perfect, not even our angelic stories. In telling those stories, we end up revealing a lot about ourselves. Like how we are something to aspire towards, to love, or to fear.
I combine acrylic paintings with scraps I find from thrift stores: paperdoll clothes, shiny buttons, and of course many, many faux feathers.
